About Neon Drift
Neon Drift is a one-input endless arcade game about nerve and small corrections. You pilot a single glowing ship along the bottom of a vertical corridor while walls scroll up toward you, each with one gap somewhere across its width. Line up with the gap, slip through, repeat. That is the entire ruleset, and it stays interesting because the game never stops tightening: every wall you clear pushes the scroll speed up a notch and shaves a few pixels off the next gap.
The ship carries momentum, which is what separates this from a simple left-right dodger. Tapping a direction does not teleport you sideways, it accelerates you, and you have to bleed that speed off before the next wall or you will overshoot the gap entirely. Slamming into the edge of the play field bounces you back instead of pinning you there, so a panicked correction near the wall can throw you straight into the obstacle you were trying to avoid. Good runs come from small, early adjustments rather than late, violent ones.
Runs are short by design and restart instantly, so a bad death costs you nothing but the ten seconds you were already enjoying. Your best score is saved in your browser, which makes it easy to chase your own record over a lunch break. Neon Drift runs entirely in the browser on desktop and mobile, with no download, no install, and no account.
How to Play
- Press Play, then use the left and right arrow keys (or A and D) to steer the ship. On a phone or tablet, hold anywhere on the screen and drag left or right.
- Each wall scrolling toward you has exactly one gap. Position the ship so it passes cleanly through that gap.
- You score one point for every wall you clear. The scroll speed increases and the gaps narrow as your score climbs.
- Touching any part of a wall ends the run. Press Play again, or hit Space, to start a new one immediately.

Tips & Strategy
- Steer toward the next gap as soon as the wall appears at the top. Late corrections rarely have time to settle before impact.
- Tap the direction keys in short bursts instead of holding them. Held input builds momentum you then have to fight.
- Aim for the centre of the gap, not the near edge. Centre-lining costs nothing and gives you room to absorb one mistake.
- Do not use the side walls to stop yourself. The bounce sends you back toward the middle at speed, which is usually the wrong direction.
- On touch, small drags beat big sweeps. The ship chases your finger, so anchoring your thumb near the middle of the screen gives the finest control.
